Inkha Track Y Experiments

it is informative to monitor the movement of the right-eye via the simulation as inkha acquires the target
this highlights the settling time of 1.25s, the amount of time the mechanism has to wait again before moving so as not to read false camera images
here is a plot in the y-z plane (looking side-on at inkha’s cheek, x is constant) i.e. a cross-section:

  • inkha starts off positioned in the bottom-right corner of the plot
  • inkha initially moves the eye to attempt to centralise the object
  • after a period of time the relaxation rule of the command module centres the eye and positions the head to compensate (this mimics human eye movement where the eyes are always centred in their sockets where possible to maximise depth of focus)
  • this process continues until the target is acquired
